Larry Coryell “The Godfather of Fusion” at the Village Gate is a live album by jazz guitarist Larry Coryell that was recorded on January 21 and 22, 1971 at the Village Gate in New York City. It was released by Vanguard Records. Sadly, far to few people know of this album at the time as its distribution was limited, a record that was recorded so well that it could easily be considered a live studio release, and one that never fails to open eyes or expand horizons. Its interesting to note that Larrys wife sings for the first time on this outing and thats his son featured on the album jacket. This is his first live album.
